Who We Are

Colette is a product of Graham Alembic LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Colette is an independent product and is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or any AI provider.

The Short Version

Colette has no servers. We don't collect your data, we don't see your conversations, and we don't track your usage. Your files stay on your devices. When you use an AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), your conversations are sent to their servers under their privacy policies. Use a local model via Ollama for full privacy.

What We Collect

From the App

Nothing. Colette runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers, APIs, or analytics services. We do not collect telemetry, usage data, crash reports, or personal information from the app.

From This Website

This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. If you submit your email to the waitlist, it is collected by Buttondown, a third-party email service, subject to their privacy policy. We use your email only to notify you about Colette availability and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

What AI Providers Collect

Colette connects to AI providers via their command-line tools. When you use a cloud AI provider through Colette, your conversations — including any code, personal details, or sensitive information you share — are sent directly from your device to that provider's servers. Colette does not intercept, proxy, store, or modify this traffic.

The app requests explicit consent before sending data to any third-party AI provider. You can revoke consent per-provider at any time in Settings.

Optional Third-Party Services

Colette supports optional integrations that you may choose to enable:

  • ElevenLabs — for premium AI voice synthesis. Your voice data is sent to ElevenLabs if you enable this feature, subject to their privacy policy.
  • Deepgram — for speech-to-text transcription. Audio is sent to Deepgram if enabled, subject to their privacy policy.

These services are optional and off by default. API keys are stored in your macOS Keychain and never leave your device except to authenticate with the respective service.

Data Storage

All project files, settings, priorities, context, and local data are stored on your device. Sensitive credentials (API keys, tokens) are stored in the macOS Keychain. We have no access to any of this data.

Children's Privacy

Colette is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since we don't collect your contact information through the app, we recommend checking this page periodically.
